Heidi hails from the plains of Laramie Wyoming across which she has run many miles. She grew up being a multi-sport athlete since there isn’t much else to do in Wyoming. She played Hockey, Basketball, and Soccer all throughout her youth and into high school. In 9th grade she needed a fall sport so she decided to join the Cross Country team as it would get her into good shape for her other sports. However, by her junior year, cross country had become her passion. Her senior year she placed 2nd in the state in cross country and won the 1600 and 3200 at the Indoor Track State meet (Wyoming actually has a state meet for Indoor track because if you run outside during the winter you will die). After much deliberation Heidi decided to sign with Boise State University to run track and cross country…which is what brings her here. Although her college career didn’t pan out the way she had hoped due to many injuries, surgery, etc., she learned a ton and made some great friends along the way, including meeting her best friend and husband Brad She is confident that although she didn’t accomplish her dreams and goals, she did accomplish the dreams and goals that God had for her during her time at Boise State. Heidi LOVES the distance crew at Meridian High and is so honored to get to coach them alongside such great coaches. Go Warriors!
